Madison, NH Vitals
These vital statistics are all that appear in the Madison Town Clerks records as dated. The vitals listed as Early Eation Vitals were originally transposed and typewritten by Keith Henney, April 6, 1968. These early vitals include births from 1771 to 1855, deaths 1791 to 1846, and marriages from 1769 to 1850. The vitals listed from 1887 (with some earlier dates, as early as 1846) were reproduced from the town clerks reports. Since 1887, the town reports were required by the state of NH to be printed for distribution. Much care was taken in reproducing this information. However, if in question, it should be checked against the original record books to eliminate any possible errors or omissions. The Department of Vital Statistics in Concord archives records of marriage certificates, as well as, more recently birth and death certificates. It was not the practice for our early townsfolk to record births and deaths with the town clerk. Instead, many recorded these life events in the family Bible. Unfortunately, so much has been lost overtime.
